Hello & Welcome!

I’m Jennifer, a writer and the creator of A Smile at a Time.  I’m here to help you find your smile and be in harmony with yourself, friends, family and acquaintances.

My Motto

Women can find their smile amid the chaos of life.

Let Me help you learn to smile at a time and . . .

My Story

Smiling was Hard in the Beginning

Life can be hard, stressful, and quite overwhelming. I’ve suffered through my share of anxiety and doubts. My insecurities kept me from trying new things, as well as struggling with my desire to be a writer.

Above all, I spent a lot of years working on my writing. However, the fear of rejection prevented me from putting myself out there. Then in my thirties, I decided to stop being afraid and just do.

Meanwhile, I went back to college to get my associate’s degree in Business Management. The desire to publish my own books burned within me, so I created a publishing company and joined a bookseller’s association to promote my book at their convention. Even though my idea flopped, I persevered and went on to  my next project.

Now I Take each day a smile at a time

No matter what, I kept trying and kept smiling. Since I wouldn’t allow my failures to hold me back, I took many leaps of faith, enjoyed the journey, as well as the learning experience. Naturally, I encountered many more failures. However, these failures gave me experience and growth.

As a result, I never lost my smile. Sure, I shed a lot of tears, but it never weighed me down. Swallowing the fear that plagued me, I continually worked on my goals.

Many of you may have felt the same lost and fear I experienced. But let me tell you, you can overcome the “blahs” of life and move forward . . . with a smile at a time.

If you’re interested in finding your smile and discovering a happier side of you, stick around and read my blog. In A Smile at a Time, I will focus on five key components that will help each of you find your smile.

Who I Am

This is JesseBoo, the best Shih Tzu ever!

Currently, I am a paralegal at a small law firm. But in my real life, you’ll find me writing my book, playing with my Shih Tzu puppies, or spending time with my family.

My friends have always commented on how happy I am and that I’m always smiling. I believe it’s because I accepted my life and the path I’m on. I’ve worked hard to get where I am, and I may not have achieved success as a writer (as of yet!), but I know that I like myself.  Liking yourself is the secret to smiling.

I received my associate’s degree in Office Administration with an emphasis on Legal Secretary from LDS Business College and an associate’s degree in Business Management from Eagle Gate College.

I love chocolate, furry animals (especially dogs), long drives, and Hallmark Christmas movies. I have over 20 DVDs and I plan to get more! Seriously, I just can’t get enough of them.
